ExxonMobil’s advanced recycling capacity is expected to reach 1 billion pounds per year by year-end 2026.

Advanced recycling is helping us reuse plastics products that were previously deemed difficult to recycle.

Advanced recycling could take millions of tons of plastics that would otherwise end up in landfills and turn them into raw materials for making new products.

Advanced recycling decreases the demand for fossil and other natural resources – by taking plastic and turning it into virgin-quality raw materials. A win-win for consumers and the environment.

A recent study shows that when ExxonMobil uses plastic waste instead of the same amount of fossil-based feedstock for making the raw materials for new plastic, it results in lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Developing advanced recycling technologies could lead to more jobs and economic opportunities for American workers.

Last year, at just one facility in Texas, we used advanced recycling technology to process almost 4 million pounds of plastic waste. That’s equivalent to recycling 360 million grocery bags.
