Stop Colorado’s Proposed Moratorium on New Oil and Gas Development
This past November, Colorado voters soundly defeated Proposition 112, which would have effectively banned new oil and gas development in the state. But now anti-industry activists are working with the legislature to threaten Colorado’s $31 billion oil and gas industry.
A newly unveiled bill – SB 181 – picks up right where Prop 112 left off. If enacted into law, this bill would result in an immediate and indefinite statewide moratorium on new oil and gas development. The moratorium would only be lifted once multiple proposed rulemakings were completed, a process that could take years.
