For 117 years, our site has played a vital role in what makes Louisiana strong. Several items on the ballot could have significant implications for our business and industry. Below are three key items to be aware of before you vote:
- U.S. Senate Republican Primary
- Senator Bill Cassidy (incumbent) has consistently supported the oil and gas industry as well as carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCS).
- Representative Julia Letlow prioritizes expanding domestic energy production and increasing LNG exports.
- State Treasurer John Fleming has taken a firm stance opposing carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), a position that conflicts with the growing demand for CCS projects in Louisiana.
- Louisiana Supreme Court Race – District 1
- Voters residing in District 1 are eligible to vote in the Louisiana Supreme Court race. Judge William Burris is endorsed by several Louisiana energy industry trade associations and is committed to supporting jobs, not lawsuits in Louisiana.
- District 1 is made up of Livingston, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes. The district also includes a portion of precincts in Orleans Parish including 941C, 941D, 945, and 945A.
- Constitutional Amendment 4
- Support for Constitutional Amendment 4 is critical to maintaining the competitiveness and longterm success of facilities in our state. This amendment gives parishes more flexibility in charging property taxes on business inventory.
Early voting runs from Saturday, May 2 – May 9, and Primary Election Day is Saturday, May 16, 2026. This election cycle is proving to be very competitive, and every vote really does count, so Geaux Vote!
