Gantt Walton

Gantt Walton is the vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Washington, DC office.

 

Gantt joined Exxon in 1999 as a public and government affairs advisor for the Baton Rouge refinery and chemical complexes, coordinating community and governmental relations. In 2000, he transferred to Houston where he held various public and government affairs assignments in the Chemical and Production companies.

 

In 2005, Gantt became senior upstream issues advisor based in London. He returned to the USA in 2007 and assumed positions in media relations and managing communications programs at Exxon Mobil Corporation’s headquarters in Irving. In 2009, Gantt moved to Houston became the public and government affairs manager for ExxonMobil’s upstream companies.

 

Gantt returned to Irving in 2012 to become the public and government affairs operations manager for Exxon Mobil Corporation. In this capacity, Gantt advised ExxonMobil's global operating companies on issues involving government relations, community and NGO outreach, external and internal communications strategy development, and media relations. In 2015, Gantt became corporate public affairs manager for Exxon Mobil Corporation with responsibilities for corporate branding and advertising, internal and external communication programs including media relations and social and digital communications. He assumed his current position in August 2017.

 

A native of Austin, Texas, Gantt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996.
